Ann Hedlund will speak during Tucson Modernism Week about the rise of Tucson as a mid-century arts colony, with Mac Schweitzer as a leading participant. Like others who were part of this movement, she rejected traditional realism, sought dramatic means of expression, and embraced new forms of semi-abstraction.
